Brets was born in Oxford in the late 70s, early 80s, at 45 Cowley Road, and later in a wooden shed on Park End Street just outside the railway station.
Brets soon built a reputation of serving the best burgers in Oxford, and according to many the best burgers on the planet!
Resurrected in 2021 in Marriotts Walk Witney, you can enjoy some of the original favourites such as The Aioli, The Hawaiian, or The Caribbean burger, along with a mouthwatering array of new burgers and delicious steaks all supplied by award winning butchers, Aubrey Allen.

Brets beef burgers are made from purely grass-fed cattle, selected to one grade, and one consistency.
We use selected cuts from sustainable grass fed dry aged beef carcasses.
Full traceability to give you assurance and a great tasting burger.

Aubrey Allen’s Beef
In a world where farmers are paid for yield not flavour, and 80% of all steaks sold in this country are imported, Aubrey Allen believe in sourcing from natural areas of outstanding beauty that the pastures of the British Isles affords. Their sustainable grass fed beef is selected only from British beef-suckler herds, to a specific classification and purchased whole to retain consistency. This helps to place their product in the top 1% of beef in the world.
Our free-range pork is sourced from Jimmy Butler’s Blythburgh farm, a family business who are as passionate about welfare as we are.

Free-range Caldecott Chickens
The chickens we use are a naturally slow-grown bird and nurtured for 15 more days than standard free-range birds to better enhance the flavour and texture – both of which will take you back to a time when chicken tasted like chicken, with wonderful crispy skin and succulence.
All of Brets Steaks are sourced through Aubrey Allen, The National Butcher Of the Year, and holder of the Royal Warrant.
All our steaks is the finest, grass-fed, dry-aged British beef With an extensive range of steaks, like the most tender fillet or the rump cap, a special Aubrey Allen Steak with a unique flavour.
At Brets we also offer you the chance to taste the best steaks from Earl Stonham, English Wagyu beef herd.
Pure Wagyu from Japanese, original breeds, grass-fed and finished for one year on grain.
Wagyu is a slow grown breed that produces wonderful, marvelling in steaks for you to enjoy a rich flavour.
